Dear Friends, We hope that you enjoyed your summer break and have returned to school refreshed. For ourselves in Connecticut, we have had a long, bitterly cold winter with a great deal of snow and ice. We are looking forward to spring and are enjoying the signs of buds peaking up along house foundations and in sheltered spots along the many stone walls that line our roads.

Even more importantly, we are looking forward to begin discussing topics that will be of mutual interest to your students in Santiago and Quilpue and ours here in Lisbon and New Canaan, Connecticut.

The lead teachers will here will be:

Bob Stevenson at New Canaan High School and Lorna Gallagher at Lisbon Central School.

We want to remind you that we have established a site to help all of the students communicate with each other at www.cclce.org/wiki They can use either English or Spanish on this site.

As we work through the upcoming months, we also hope that we will be able to use podcasts to follow the progress the students make in developing their portfolios
